10th January School re-opened. All Staff present.
11th Jany. Mr. McQueen, the Dental Officer, examined the teeth of all the children.
12th Jany. A lecture on Temperance was delivered to the Senior pupils by Mr. John Sutherland from Scottish Band of Hope Union.
17th Jany. Received intimation from Dr. Adam that Diphtheria exists in the house of Andrew Millar, Croft Cottage.
25th Jany. Another case of Diphtheria reported.
1st Feby. Religious service conducted by Rev. D. Bayne.
8th Feby. Form E15. completed and sent to Mr. Morrison.
10th Feby. Dr. Adams reports that Diphtheria exists in the house of Robert Stowe.
Visited school today and found everything very satisfactory so far as school attendance is concerned also instructions. Several repairs receiving attention, Rain percolating through roofs, Corridor water logged and most disagreeable, and requires attention of Authority.

24th Feby. Requested assistance in Infant Department in room of Miss Smart whose Medical Attendant states she is suffering from acute Tonsillitis.
27th Feby Visited school today and found everything satisfactory, attendance good, Pupils attentive and alert, Staff well up in their duties, and moral standard of the school excellent.

With consent of Convenor school was closed early and combined markings made in Registers owing to severe snow storm.
16th March Attendance adversely affected by the inclement weather. Average for week being 313.6, percentage being 80.2.
21st March Dr. Rutherford S.M.O. medically examined Children born in 1919.
22nd March Medical examination continued.
29th March Boisterous, wintry weather causes fall in attendance.
3rd April Junior Class attended Musical Festival this forenoon, and Senior Class in afternoon.

14th Dec. An Epidemic cold among the Infants has greatly reduced attendance. Average percentage for week is 85.9.

18th January Greatly reduced attendance, especially in Infant and Junior Classes, owing to an epidemic of Influenza. To-day 130 pupils were absent.
21st January Miss Smart absent owing to illness.
22nd January Miss Smart returned to duty.
Headmaster absent, suffering from Influenza.
23rd January Mr.Kerr, H.M.I. visited school.
24th January Mr. John S. Sutherland from the Band of Hope Union gave a lecture to the senior pupils on “Temperance”.
25th January Attendance still bad. Average 310.9, being 74.3 percent.
28th January Headmaster resumed duty.
4th Feby. Case of Scarlet Fever and one of Diphtheria reported by Dr. Adam.
6th Feby. Religious address delivered to the Senior pupils by Rev. Mr. Bayne.
8th Feby. Attendance has greatly improved – percentage being now 89.5.
14th Feby. Water pipes in Cookery Room frozen and therefore no supply to Hot Water tank. As no fire could be put on, the Advanced Division Class was removed to Room 7.
15th Feby. Above condition continues.
18th Feby. Water pipes still frozen. Suspended Cookery Class, and telephoned Mr. Morrison for instructions. He promised to visit school this afternoon. Lessons given in Housewifery. Mr. Morrison visited school, and discussed with Headmaster possible arrangements for carrying on Advanced Division work during the time the building is under re-construction.
19th Feby. Pipes still frozen. Mr. Mackay conducted classes in Technical Drawing in the Staff Room.
22nd Feby Average attendance for week 375.5,being 90%.
25th Feby. Cookery Room fit for Class to-day.
Received notice from Dr. Adam that Diphtheria exists in the house of John Jackson.
27th Feby. Mr. Cunningham addressed Juniors.
Mr. Cunningham on behalf of School Convenor took notes of repairs required and promised to bring the water before the School Management Committeee to-night.
28th Feby. The S.M.C. granted Headmaster permission to engage labour to remove benches, desks etc. from the Cookery Room which is to be demolished.
4th March Furnishings and apparatus in Cookery Room removed on Saturday.
Housewifery, Technical Drawing and Needlework Classes occupy Staff Room until suitable accommodation be found elsewhere.
8th March Case of Scarlet Fever reported by Dr. Adam.
13th March Rev. Mr. Bayne addressed Senior pupils.
21st March Received notice from Mr. Morrison that he had accepted the offer of the Welfare Society for the use of their rooms during the alteration at the school.
22nd March Received Copy of Regulations for the opening and closing of schools as laid down by the Education Authority.
26th March Mr. Malcolm. Architect. Visited school, and discussed with Headmaster the arrangements for carrying on school work in Welfare Hall.
27 March Visited School and found everything Satisfactory.

1st Oct. Messrs Gray and Cunningham - a Sub-Committee appointed by the School Management Committee to confer with the Headmaster regarding the appointment of a Janitor – met here and discussed the matter.
3rd Oct. Weather exceedingly boisterous and wet. Many absentees in the afternoon.
4th Oct. On Roll 434: Average attendance 398.7. Percentage 89.7.

“The addition of five new rooms has provided satisfactory accommodation for all divisions except for the Infants, who still occupy two small and inconvenient rooms .
According to the plans approved these rooms were to be converted into one commodious classroom and a staffroom, but a further increase of school population has delayed this improvement, which must not, however, be indefinitely postponed. Some action will, evidently, be necessary in the near future.”
